Weather Forecasting Based Smart Solar Power Plant (Research Poster)
Introduction
Solar energy is a vital renewable resource, but its efficiency depends heavily on weather conditions such as sunlight availability, cloud cover, and atmospheric changes. These variations can cause instability in power generation, especially in large-scale solar systems.
This project focuses on improving solar power reliability by integrating weather forecasting techniques. By predicting sunlight availability in advance, the system helps in better planning and management of solar energy production, reducing unexpected fluctuations and improving overall grid stability.
The main objective of this project is to enhance the efficiency and reliability of solar power generation by using weather forecast data. The system predicts solar radiation levels and anticipates future energy output, allowing better decision-making.
It aims to:
Optimize solar energy production
Improve grid stability
Reduce power interruptions caused by weather changes
Support integration of renewable energy into the power system
Provide forecast-based planning for up to several days in advance

Objective
Probable Time of Application
This system is designed to be applied in short-term to mid-term forecasting periods, typically ranging from:
Daily forecasts (24 hours)
Weekly forecasts (up to 7 days)
Extended forecasts (up to 30 days)
These timeframes allow operators to plan energy generation, manage loads efficiently, and take preventive actions against potential power fluctuations due to weather uncertainty.
